Reel Stories offers opportunities for women and non-binary people to develop their filmmaking skills throughout the year!
International Women’s Day Event: March 8, 6-8:30PM at Ciel Creative Space. We’re debuting our student board film #TeensToo, a documentary about growing up in the era of #TimesUp & #MeToo movements, followed the Bay Area premiere of Nevertheless,created by Emmy award winning filmmaker Sarah Moshman. To cap off this this epic event, we’re conducting a panel with award winning female filmmakers.
Women’s Filmmaking Weekend: March 20-22, we’re hosting our 7th Adult Women’s Filmmaking Weekend. Participants will work with professionals to write, shoot, & edit their own film in only 3 days! Space is limited for this creative weekend.
Past Workshops Include:
Animation Day – One day introductory animation workshop for girls and non-binary people ages 12-18
Art of the Interview – One day workshop for women & non-binary people of all ages who want to enhance their interview skills. Focuses on all things interviewing for documentary and/or narrative filmmakers, as well as different forms of written and recorded media, including journalism.
Pre-Professional Day – Workshops for women and non-binary people ages 18+ providing candid information about professional filmmaking including what to expect on set, how to prepare for a shoot, how to work with clients, and how to navigate career moves.
YouTube Bootcamp – One day workshop for women and non-binary people ages 13-24 to learn how to create your own YouTube channel and share your work with the world!
